We spoke to Clare from After The Rain Skin & Wellness about one of her clients, Julie, and her inspiring recovery journey using CACI treatments after being diagnosed with Ramsey Hunt Syndrome.
Clare shared her experience working with Julie, a long-standing client at the clinic:
‘Our client Julie Nunn, 54, was poorly over the Christmas period and caught an ear infection which brought on the Ramsey Hunt Syndrome. She has been a regular client of the clinic, who in the last year, had a full course of Jowl Lift. She came in for her maintenance treatment (which is when we first knew she had suffered this terrible condition), and said she had been reading up about how CACI can help facial paralysis. That day I did her usual Jowl Lift, and she fed back that she felt the difference in just that one treatment and she felt a little more movement and had stopped biting the side of her mouth.’
Motivated by Julie’s immediate response to her regular treatment, Clare created a bespoke plan:
‘We then carried out a course of 15 CACI Signature Non-Surgical treatments on just the left side of her face, three times a week. The results were fantastic. After treatment five, her face looked much better. She was able to close her eyes again and wasn’t biting the inside of her cheek. We needed to get a full smile back. The therapist who carried out Julie’s seventh appointment had a cry as she was overwhelmed with how well the treatment was going.’
Julie also shared her personal story and the impact CACI had on her recovery:
‘I contracted Ramsey Hunt Syndrome which left me with stage 5 facial paralysis. The prognosis was anywhere from six months to a year for movement to return to normal with a possibility of never quite being the same.
My eyelid needed to be taped shut at night and had to blink in manually and I was constantly biting my tongue. I had a course of CACI treatment a few months previously and wondered if it would help speed things up, so as soon as I was out of hospital I contacted my local salon.
When I had my consultation they told me that CACI was actually developed by a doctor for his wife who suffered from Bell’s palsy (to check this with Dean) or change to…who treated clients with facial paralysis. I instantly felt hopeful. After each treatment I noticed a bit more of my face coming back to life, where before it had been completely frozen before. My eyelid slowly started moving again and by the end of the treatments I could fully blink again.
I had sixteen treatments over a month and regained facial symmetry. I couldn't be happier with the results. Without the treatment I know my recovery would have been a long road. I can't thank staff at the salon enough and recommend CACI to anyone suffering from a similar issue - the results are amazing.’
Julie’s journey is a powerful example of how tailored CACI treatments can support recovery from facial paralysis and help restore both movement and confidence.
